Happy New Year!…right?

Greetings to you again!

I hope everyone had a very enjoyable Christmas season with their loved ones! I want to personally welcome you to the New Year and wish you nothing but health and prosperity throughout.

I would like to take a look at the pros and cons of what the next year may look like for everyone. Believe it or not…it's NOT all about doom and gloom.

CONS…

As much as the media would have us believe that we should all head for the hills and "colonize now", I would also like to point out likely the most obvious BENEFIT to what's happening in our day to day lives. Let's read on…

Firstly, I won't for a second deny the problems that we face in the coming year; Economic Turndown - two words that cause many of us to get that shiver up the middle of our backs. To add to it, we'll add a third word…GLOBAL Economic Turndown. What does that even mean? Even the highest of political figures will be the first to tell you that we are in unchartered waters…however, there IS light at the end of the tunnel. Where the tunnel ends…well, that's the question, right? If you're a pessimist, the tunnel is miles away, nothing will ever go right, we might as well pack it in, and all hope is lost! HOWEVER, if you're an optimist, the tunnel is 'lengthy' and we'll get there...

The pessimist contributes to an unhealthy economic future; meanwhile, the optimist contributes to consumerism and a FIT economic future.

PROS…

"Ok, get to the BENEFIT that you mentioned!"…I can hear you yelling now.

The benefit of it all? Just have a look at the mortgage interest rates. I'm going to ask a few questions, and you let me know if any of the answers to these are "yes"…

1.) Are you about to sign onto a mortgage for a home purchase?
2.) Are you considering consolidating your bills with a new LOW interest mortgage rate? (By the way…what is the interest rate on your credit card these days? I don't know about you, but many consumers place all of their Christmas debt on their credit cards.)
3.) Have you thought about renewing your high interest rate into a lower interest rate potentially saving you thousands of dollars over the next 3 to 5 years??

These three little questions could change your outlook, no? I know, I know – it's not all about mortgage rates!! But imagine the outlook with softening home prices with inflated interest rates...so, it MIGHT be a little bit about mortgage interest rates, right? We haven't seen rates like what we've seen lately for several years. The prime rate of Canada is down to 3.50%! This is not a typo…

It may be something to consider (?).

If we're headed into a year that forecasts troubled waters, don't we want to prepare a little better PRIOR to taking the first wave head on?

You're Selling Your Home And You Are Having Trouble Selling It…

Yes, there are good home deals out there right now. But what about the fact that you need a good price for your home when you try and sell it? There are many scenarios out there where you want to move, but you're having trouble selling your home. Talk to us! We have ways that can assist you on a "Bridge Loan" without having to sell your home first! Typically you need a firm sale on your home before a lender will grant you bridge financing…but there's a new kid in town. If you're in this situation, you need to contact me – there may be a way to piece it together for you!

LASTLY…

For those of you that contributed to our WestJet referral system last year, I thank-you. Many of you received $100 for each time you referred your friends and/or family that closed a mortgage with us. You also were entered into a draw for our $2000 WestJet voucher! I am excited to inform you that we have renewed our referral system for 2009!!

Again, thank-you for your continued support! My promise back to you is that we supply superior service, knowledgeable advice, and a mortgage that fits your lifestyle!

If you have any questions at all, I am open! I look forward to hearing from you soon – all the best to you and yours for 2009…

Sincerely,
